Health is one of the clearest expressions of our service. Our projects are built on a simple, practical approach: identify urgent needs, work with trusted partners, and focus on solutions that save lives and improve dignity in care.

Reducing preventable maternal and newborn mortality in Kabale, Kabarole and Wakiso.

Maternal & Newborn Health Global Grant

A Rotary global grant project worth US$166,050, designed to reduce preventable maternal and newborn mortality in Kabale, Kabarole and Wakiso. The project delivered village ambulances, referral support, antenatal care and training for doctors, nurses and midwives. By January 2023, at least seven village ambulances and related maternal and child health equipment had been distributed. Partners included RC Allschwil-Regio Basel, the World Health Organization, district health management teams and Pulse Uganda.

Strengthening care for accident and fracture patients.

Orthopaedic Equipment for Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital

In February 2023, the Rotary Club of Entebbe and Rotary International handed over orthopaedic equipment worth US$86,000 to Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital, strengthening care for accident and fracture patients. The wider package, including training for medical staff, is described in club communications as worth US$102,500.

Water, sanitation and hygiene upgrade to Kajjansi HC IV, Bussi HC III and Busawamanze HC III.

WASH Upgrade for Wakiso Health Centres

A multi-club partnership between the Rotary Clubs of Entebbe, Kyengera, Nkumba, Garuga and Bwebajja delivered a US$81,649 water, sanitation and hygiene upgrade to Kajjansi HC IV, Bussi HC III and Busawamanze HC III. Running from July 2025 and commissioned in June 2026, the project installed 10,000-litre water tanks, handwashing stations, incinerators and improved waste systems, implemented with Gali Water Company. The Rotary Club of Entebbe was later named runner-up for MCH & WASH Excellence by Rotary District 9214.

In April 2026, the Rotary Club of Entebbe helped lead a heart camp that gave nine children life-saving closed-heart surgery at the Uganda Heart Institute, working alongside the Rotary Club of El Tahrir, heart specialists and supporters from three countries.

Blood Donation Mobilization

On 1 July 2026, the Rotary Club of Entebbe took part in a blood donation drive at Entebbe Secondary School, organised through the Entebbe Corridor Cluster, targeting 200 units of blood. Across the wider campaign, 24 schools and five corridors collected 3,319 units in total, including 652 units from the Entebbe Corridor.
